Lloyd: “The steamer Wyandotte was totally wrecked on the Mississippi, above Vicksburg, November 21, 1848. Thirty of the passengers and crew perished.” (Lloyd 1856, p. 296.)
Way: “Wyandotte. SW p wh b [Sidewheel packet, wood hull, built] Cincinnati, Oh., 1847. 314 tons. She landed on Paw-Paw Island, above Vicksburg, Miss., to unload quarreling deck passengers, hit a snag, and went down, Nov. 21, 1848.
