Lloyd: “May Queen. – The steamboat May Queen collapsed her flues on the Arkansas river, on February 16th, 1852. Twelve persons were killed, and seven were badly wounded.” (Lloyd 1856, p. 295.)

Way: “Collapsed a flue on the Arkansas River, Feb. 16, 1852, twelve persons killed, seven injured. Snagged and lost 45 miles below Little Rock, Ark., Aug. 13, 1852.” (Way’s Packet Directory, 1848-1994: Passenger Steamboats…MS River System. 1994, p. 317.)
