Association of American Railroads: “[Question 387] Did the Indians interfere with the railroad builders in the West? The Indians attacked the builders on several occasions. One of the last incidents was the massacre by Apache Indians of thirteen surveyors of the Santa Fe Railroad on August 12, 1883.” (Association of American Railroads.
