Narrative Information

Grazulis: “OK  Jun 12, 1942 20:41  35k  100inj  500y  2.3m  F4. Oklahoma [County] – The funnel cut a twisting, erratic path in SW Oklahoma City. Over 70 homes were destroyed as the tornado generally moved to the NE, but often cutting to the E or W. Most of the damage was in the 27-29th Street areas between Portland and Goff avenues. $500,000 [damage].” (p. 902)

NWSFO, Norman, OK: “The most deadly tornado on record in the OKC area until the May 3, 1999 F5 tornado. The funnel cut a twisting, erratic path through the SW part of OKC. Movement was generally to the NE, but it often “cut to the east or west”. 73 homes were destroyed and 31 damaged, with most of the damage in the 27-29th Street areas between Portland and Goff Avenues.
