June 25: “Green Cove Springs, Fla., June 25. –(AP)—Sheriff J.P. Hall of Clay county said he had received a report that a navy plane crashed in the St. Johns river near here today with the apparent loss of 12 lives.”  (Helena Independent (MT).  “Plane Crashes,” June 26, 1943, p. 2.)

 

June 27: “Jacksonville, Fla.
