Nov. 18, AP: “Tokyo, Nov. 18. (AP) – Fifteen military passengers and the eight-may crew of a U.S. Army C-46 transport plane enroute from Guam to Iwo Jima were killed late Saturday when the aircraft crashed into the sea about 15 miles from its destination, the air corps announced today. Search planes and naval craft found bits of wreckage from the plane the next day.
