Baugher: “Boeing B-29A-65-BN Superfortress….62147 crashed 5 mi NNE of Seguin, TX Oct 19, 1950. Aircraft dropped out of overcast and dove into ground. All 8 crew killed.” (Baugher. 1944 USAAF Serial Numbers (44-40049 to 44-70254). Oct 28, 2011 rev.)

Oct 20, INS: “Seguin, Tex., Oct. 20 (INS). – Air Force accident investigators today probed the scattered wreckage of a B-29 bomber which crashed and exploded near Seguin, killing the entire crew of eight men aboard. Pieces of the Randolph Air Force base superfortress were blown a half-mile away when the ship plunged to earth yesterday. The four engines were buried in four deep craters and the explosion burned out an area in the pasture where it fell, 100 yards long and 50 yards wide….Brig. Gen. Carl B.
