Dec 4, AP: “Marianna, Ark. (AP) – An expectant mother and her seven children have been killed in a fire which destroyed their tenant farm home at nearby Westor. Sheriff Courtney Langston Jr. identified the…woman as Mrs. J. L. Bowers. He said the fire apparently started from an over-heated stove. The sheriff said Bowers was out hunting at the time the fire broke out Monday night [2nd]….The children’s ages ranged from 1 to 9. The bodies were all in a bedroom.
