Grazulis: “AR. APR 3, 1968 1820 5k 16inj 400y 14m F4. LINCOLN–Moved ENE, passing SE of Star City and lifting near Gould. About a dozen farm homes were destroyed and cars were thrown off Hwy-81. A 60-square-foot piece of asphalt was blown 100 feet….

“AR. APR 3, 1968 1944 lk 6inj 100y 3m F3. GREENE–Moved NE from 3m NE of Paragould. A small home was swept completely away and a man was killed when he was thrown 300 yards. A 400-foot-long exhibit building at the fairground was destroyed. A large factory lost its roof and some walls….

“TN. APR 3, 1968 2145 4k 32inj 1000y 25m F3. SHELBY/TIPTON — Moved NE from west of Millington, to east of Atoka, near Brighton, and to 5m E of Covington. About 100 trailers in Millington sustained moderate damage to total destruction. Many rural and urban homes were destroyed or damaged. Two people were killed in homes in Atoka and two in Brighton.

“KY. APR 3, 1968 2330 2k 30inj 200y 40m F4. CALLOWAY/ MARSHALL/ TRIGG/ CALDWELL/CHRISTIAN–Moved NE from 10m NE of Murray, near a trailer court on Hwy-641. It moved NE through Alamo Heights to about 2m E of Dexter, to the Aurora-Unity area, across Kentucky Lake, Land Between the Lakes, Lake Barkley, across northern Trigg County, southern Caldwell County, and to NW Christian County. Over 50 homes were damaged or destroyed, mostly in Marshall and Calloway Counties. A couple died in a Calloway County home. Many roads were blocked by trees and fallen utility lines. There was damage to at least 30 farms in Trigg County. There was extensive damage to a new lodge and to the forest in Pennyrile State Park, and farm buildings in adjacent areas.
