Badger/NFPA: “North Carolina…August, 1:07 a.m., six [deaths]…a one-story, 840-square-foot (78-square-meter) manufactured home of unprotected wood-frame construction…There were no smoke alarms or automatic suppression equipment present…Due to the destruction of the home, no cause or origin could be determined.”

 

NBC News: “Six people died when a fire ripped through their mobile home early Saturday in North Carolina, police said… the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the fire broke out at 1 a.m. ET just outside Garland, a small town of just over 800 people about 35 miles southeast of Fayetteville. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no foul play is suspected, authorities said… Neighbors told the station that by the time they awoke and realized something was wrong, the fast-moving fire had already completely engulfed the mobile home.”
